Ways to Support the Education of Artisans

The artisans of the American College of the Building Arts are men and women dedicated to preserving the built environment, both historic and contemporary. This young, liberal arts institution has a growing legacy of skilled craftsmen who will continue using traditional techniques to improve and secure structures both here and abroad for years to come.

Supporting ACBA gives faculty and students the resources necessary to continue this innovative education. Contributions support student scholarships, fund student internships, and attract some of the country's top scholars, artists, and innovators to our campus. You are investing in the next generation of educated artisans. Contributions of all types and sizes are welcomed. All gifts are tax deductible to the extent allowed by law. If you would like to make a contribution, please view the options below, or call the Development Office at (843) 577-5245. We would be happy to tell you more about how ACBA may benefit from your support or provide assistance if you wish to direct your contribution to a certain area, such as a named scholarship. Wish List and In-Kind Donations
ACBA has an ongoing need for workshop materials such as timber, iron, coal, and tools. There is also an ongoing Wish List for items to support the programs.

  • Computers with the capability to run Autocad software
  • Portable 6 to 8 outlet UPS (new or with new batteries)
  • Adobe Design software (for Windows or Mac)
  • Digital cameras for documentation of student work
  • Stone slabs for the Plaster Shop
  • Zinc for templates to be used in the Plaster Shop
  • Cooper for roofing
  • Portable Power Tools and Hand tools
  • Wood and timber for Carpentry and Timber Framing Shops
